Fresh from receiving his second nomination at the 2017 BET Awards, Ghanaian dancehall artist Stonebwoy is feverishly preparing to release his third studio album, ‘Epistles of Mama’ (EOM).
The ‘Go Higher’ hit singer has been frequenting Jamaica for some time and when BET Africa caught up with him for a chit chat, he revealed that he has been working on a number of collaborations there.

Asked when fans should expect the album, he said “‘Epistles of Mama’ coming December 12 2017.” He initially planned to release it before April this year but had to change the date “just because we want to get some things well structured and properly foxed before we drop it.”
Stonebwoy released ‘Grade 1 Album’ in 2012 followed by ‘Necessary Evil’ in 2014. He also released an EP – ‘LIVINGSTON’ in 2016. His third album is dedicated to his mother who passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015.
Stonebwoy made history by becoming the first African dancehall artist to win the BET Best International Act: Africa award at the 2015 edition. He is hoping to make it a second this year.
Commenting on the BET nomination, the artist said it is his hard work that has paid off. “I worked that hard to warrant a nomination amongst those [other nominees],” he said and hopes to win again this year.

According to Stonebwoy, it took him two years to come out with the album and that explains the amount of energy and time he invested in the work.
“It took me two years because I had to take my time, study the market and do a perfect work,’ he disclosed.
