Born Nicholas Kojo Bondzie Amissah, professionally known as Nickle Kay, is a talented Ghanaian Afrobeat musician hailing from the Central Region of Ghana. A multiple award-winning artist, Nickle Kay has made his mark on the Ghanaian music scene with songs including “Roll It,” “Gbedu,” “Monalisa,” and his latest release, “No More.”
Nickle Kay had his basic education in Ashaiman and later attended senior high school in Adukrom in the Eastern Region. His passion for music began at an early age, with his love for creating music and spending time in the studio eventually leading him to pursue music professionally in 2018. He initially started as a rapper during his JHS years before developing his sound and identity as an Afrobeat artist. Alongside his music journey, Nickle Kay studied filmmaking and video editing, skills that helped him finance and support his musical career at different stages. His dedication to music also led him to establish a home studio, giving him the freedom to record and develop ideas whenever inspiration strikes.
Nickle Kay has performed on notable local and international stages, including Ashaiman to the World, the FIFA Fan Festival in Qatar, pubs and entertainment venues in Qatar, the Ashaiman Music Awards Festival, and performances at schools such as NUNSEC and St. Margaret’s. These experiences have helped him develop his confidence and stage presence as a performer. He has also featured in interviews and media platforms including MX24 TV and the Ghana Artist Club, further expanding his presence within Ghana’s entertainment industry.
