Erica Kingsize, professionally known as Barbieriqa, is a Ghanaian singer and songwriter from Tegbi in the Volta Region of Ghana, currently based in Ashaiman, where she completed her basic education and is pursuing her studies at Ashaiman Senior High School. Barbieriqa developed a passion for music from childhood. In her early years, she began creating mashups of popular songs, using them as a way to explore her voice and develop her musical identity. She has often spoken about how deeply music influenced her, particularly her admiration for Stonebwoy, whom she identifies as one of her biggest vocal influences. Her other musical influences include international stars such as Alicia Keys.
Musically, the young artist blends Afropop and R&B, creating a sound characterized by a smooth, soulful and expressive vocal style. Her songwriting and delivery draw from multiple Ghanaian languages, including English, Twi, Ga and Ewe, allowing her music to connect with different audiences while reflecting her Ghanaian roots.
Barbieriqa officially began her professional music career after signing with Sydem Entertainment, which led to the release of her debut mashup single, “Afro Mashup.” With her distinctive voice, youthful energy and growing musical identity, she is focused on developing her artistry and establishing herself as one of the emerging voices in Ghana’s music scene. As she continues her journey, Barbieriqa is working toward releasing more original music and building a career that takes her sound beyond Ghana to audiences around the world.
